Greetings and Happy New Years Fightin’ Gator Touchdown Club members.
As we begin 2012, we have so much to report as a new Board and with new Officers, that we’ll be sending out a complete newsletter after our January 12th board meeting. For the time being, here is a brief synopsis of an active year to come.
First, the year has already started off with a bang as Gators came away with a victory over those Nuts up north, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Although the offense sputtered (surprise there), the Gator defense and special teams came through once again to lead the Gators to a 24-17 Gator Bowl victory. The game wasn’t as close a the score indicates as the Buckeye’s scored a late touchdown with 57 sec’s left in the game! The Gators now lead the series 2-0; way to go Gators.
With a new board and new officers, comes new ideas and push to enhance our club and it’s membership. We hope to start the year off with many of you in attendance, with a guest in tow! The more members we encourage to join, the more we can do for our Fightin’ Gators and our club as a whole.
In the coming year, your board and officers will be handling many events and would encourage our members to step forward and participate. As a respectful reminder, we became a supporting club for Gator football in 1977, and our goal is to back our Gators “...in all kinds of weather...”. This phrase is not just for football, but it should also ring true for each of us in the FGTC! YOUR club is celebrating 35 years as a club, so
“...come on Gators, get up and go!”
